Tenia Menegaki was born and raised in Thessaloniki. She studied interior architecture and design at AAS – University of Central Lancashire. She continued her postgraduate studies in Barcelona, at ELISAVA school, specializing in Retail Design.
Since 2011, she has been working as an interior architect, designer, and independent exhibition curator. She has designed a significant number of both private and non-private spaces.
Her collaborations span a wide range of creators, artists, designers, architects, musicians, and activists. She has organized, coordinated, or participated in various actions, festivals, and conferences concerning civil society, design, visual arts, and music.
In 2012, she founded Apodec.
Apodec is a micro-exhibition space and interior design studio.
It serves as a meeting point, a reason for communication and networking.
Geographically, it may be located at Veroias 4, Thessaloniki, but it is more interested in the topological map it creates through its connections – with people who are united by something else in common.
The main focus of Apodec is a series of exhibitions under the term “KATI” (meaning "SOMETHING.")
A condition that is both general and specific when one considers that "something" can become "anything."
Every 1.5 months or so, a new SOMETHING appears in the form of an episode.
So far, ceramic, sculptural, painting, and photographic works, among others, have been presented.
