EROLITHIKA

The love for the art of sculpture and marble is what defines most of Filippos Valeras’ work. Fascinated by the various types of marble—its color, hardness, transparency, and even its scent—his priority is always to showcase its unique character with respect. At the same time, his own life and experiences serve as the quarry from which he, like a miner, extracts his themes and forms. Thus, the Erolithika are born, as a small meeting point between thought and creation with the timeless power of stone.

For Valeras, sculpture becomes a poetry of the senses, through which he carves his own personal sensitivity, and sculpture, in turn, gives his existence an intangible caress. This tangible caress, the unspoken, the invisible, is what art offers us every time we accidentally encounter it.
